Glengarry's indoor soccer season wraps up tonight at the dome; Alexandria claims women's crown
Alexandria dome to host finale in GSL senior men's championship series
To paraphrase the saying, tonight it will be for all the marbles (or soccer balls?), as the Glengarry Soccer League’s indoor season is set to conclude with the finale of the senior men’s division championship series.
McCrimmon and the Barflies enter tonight having won a game apiece, forcing the final and deciding third match.
Opening kickoff at the dome is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
Both games to date were one-goal decisions, with the opener going in McCrimmon’s favour, 4-3, while the Barflied replied in the second contest to prevail 3-2.
Regular-season gameplay concluded with the Drillers atop the seven-team standings on 33 points through 12 matches. The lone blemish was a loss to go against 11 wins. The Drillers also led in goals scored (87), few goals allowed (25), and goal differential (+62). The only other teams in plus-territory were the second-place Apple Hill Knights (+11) and the fourth-ranked Barflies (+7). McCrimmon finished at -4.
The top two seeds fell in semifinal action, with the Drillers edged 4-3 by McCrimmon, while the Barflies sent the Knights home on a 4-1 result.
